Khasis - A Transmedia Story Project
Featured Skills: Game Writing and World Design, Creative Writing, Animation, Illustration
Khasis is a world I created for a University class. It begun as a simple GDD/NDD, with the intention of learning how to build a functioning fictional world in which multiple stories can take place. It has gone through many iterations over the years and I am SO excited to share what I've made with you! I have a full breakdown of the processes of building the world and it's stories here!
Unroyal
Character Origin Story - Harlynn
Featured: Concept Art, Illustration, Writing
Unroyal is a earliest part of Mechionic's story currently. This comic is the first part of three. In Harlynn Sauna's origin story. The biggest challenge wasn't necessarily the artwork itself, but rather learning to navigate the complex composition style that comics and graphic novels have, drawing inspiration from comics like Hellboy, Invincible, and At Last the Light. I am extremely proud of the storyline and the artwork in the end. Audiences clearly did, too, when I sold nearly a dozen copies at university festivals! I can't wait to continue the series.

Mechionic: The Stolen Mind
Featured: Game/Level Design, Writing, Pixel Art and Animation
In between the events of Unroyal and Liberation, we have a large missing chunk of time that I am actively working to fill (an will soon be revealing projects for!). One part of this chunk of time tells of the strange animech behavior that has begun to surface. Upon a request from Harlynn, it is up to Zander to determine why animechs are started to become erratic and violent. This game is currently still in development, but is nearing the end of its production! My biggest struggle with this was working with 8x8 artwork in a software like gbstudio that has so many restrictions in sprite creation. It certainly had a large learning curve and I'm still improving! I hope to someday pitch this game as a proof-of-concept to create a larger, more detailed version!
Mechionic: Liberation
Featured: Game Design, Writing, Concept Art, Illustration
Mechionic is a story-based, semi-roguelike experience with the main goal of finding your friend who is somewhere in the labyrinth and then to escape. This game has gone through several iterations. The first was a much less free-roaming experience and, while I enjoyed the concept of the original, it didn't have the replicability I wanted. Thus, back to the drawing board! Out of the ashes of the old, came this version! This game was a challenge to develop, as it was my first time making such a thing. The combat alone took over a dozen playtests before it finally felt right! I am extremely proud of it and excited for its launch soon!

"My Dear"
Animated Short - Miami University Design Jam
Featured: Storyboarding, Character and Creature Animation
This was an animation I created for a design jam at university. The idea was to showcase three things: My technical skills in walk cycles, the key cities/locations of Khasis in a simplistic way.
I struggled the most with scene transitions and looking back at it, it is most likely due to the fact I chose to animate the entire 43 seconds in Photoshop.

Even through that, however, I am still extremely proud with how it turned out for such a short deadline. The camel in particular - who I lovingly named Quark - is my pride and joy of this work.
Before Death, After Life
This is a game that is actively being made, so this is what I've accomplished thus far.
Featured: Storyboarding, Concept Art and Narrative Design
Before Death, After Life is an Interactive short film experience. It is meant to serve as a "Proof of concept" or Vertical Slice of an inevitably larger project for my Capstone course at Miami University.

This is a heartfelt and emotional journey of a game with the goal of making the player ask "what does it mean for a life to feel fulfilling?
